At GSTM, student welfare and security are top priorities. To ensure transparency and peace of mind for both students and parents, GSTM has implemented comprehensive protection, insurance, and counselling schemes that safeguard every learner throughout their educational journey.
Course Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)
GSTM adopts the Industry-Wide Course Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) administered by the Committee for Private Education (CPE) to protect all fees paid by students.
Under this scheme, GSTM purchases insurance coverage from the appointed provider Lonpac Insurance Bhd. This ensures that every student’s course fees are securely protected against:
Loss of tuition fees paid in advance due to the insolvency or regulatory closure of the school.
The school’s failure to pay any sum awarded by the Singapore courts to a student.
This protection underscores GSTM’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and financial transparency.
Group Medical Insurance Scheme
All international students enrolled at GSTM are covered under the school’s Group Medical Insurance Scheme. The insurance provides a minimum coverage that includes:
An annual limit of S$30,000 for medical costs per student.
Coverage for at least a B1 ward in government and restructured hospitals.
24-hour worldwide protection, including overseas coverage when students participate in school-related activities.
This comprehensive plan ensures that every student has access to medical care and emergency support when needed.
Student Counselling and Pastoral Care
At GSTM, we care deeply about our students’ well-being and mental health. Pastoral counselling services are available to support students in developing self-awareness, resilience, and a positive mindset.
Each student is entitled to counselling support of up to S$200 per academic year.
Counselling sessions may be arranged through Student Support and Academic Departments prior to attending any appointment.
Students may also seek assistance from 36 Family Service Centres supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).
Those who wish to discuss personal or academic challenges informally may also approach the Student Welfare Officer for a private session.
Students may additionally reach out to the following professional counselling organisations for help and support:
